He has died and risen from the dead to show the salvation of men and the immeasurable power of God. Many others commemorate this time as a fun-filled holiday; the excitement and thrill of the chocolate bunny, candy-filled eggs all in a beautiful basket is quite simply put and representative of the colourful lives of those who are superficial and shallow.
Easter should not only be a time of
memoriam but a time to truly reflect on our spiritual self. Spiritual belief is what holds the human mind
together in the midst of all the conflict, chaos and unrest. I have found comfort in arming myself with
the full Armor of protection that is provided through the word of God. Faith, truth, righteousness, peace and
salvation is what we all seek through the guidance of our spirit man. On a day to day basis, we try to live in the
light of God’s words and live in obedience and fellowship with him.
Over the course of (last) 40 days, I
have made a conscious effort to crucify certain areas of my life with hopes
built in faith that the resurrecting power of God will reveal to me a new
construct or beginning. The same way
Jesus was tempted in the wilderness is no different from man being tempted by the
likes and pleasures of the flesh. It is
certainly no easy task to live and pray certain things into our lives but it is
definitely worth the effort.
In essence, put yourself up for the
challenge to put off all fleshy works of your old self through cleansing of the
mind, body and spirit and put on the new man that you see yourself to be. With much strength, courage, purity and
honesty, you can make this a reality my friends. In all that you do give yourself a renewed sense
of hope and be thankful for everything.
